How I Became Addicted to Reading

Read or Watch

Reading wasn't always something that came easily to me.

In fact, throughout school, I struggled to find the motivation and focus to read books – even ones that I was assigned for class.

It wasn't until I discovered the benefits of using a Kindle that I really got into reading and became addicted to it.

In this post, I'll share my experience with reading and how I've been able to develop a love for it.

Why reading was a struggle

As a child, I was only really interested in reading books that had pictures and were about subjects like science or animals.

Fiction books and nonfiction books like self-help or business books just didn't hold my attention.

Even in high school and college, when I was interested in reading those kinds of books, I found it hard to sit down and focus on them for long periods of time.

The benefits of using a Kindle

About a year and a half ago, I bought a Kindle, and it's completely changed my reading habits.

For one thing, it's much cheaper than continuously buying physical books. I also love the fact that the Kindle has a feature that shows you exactly how much time you have left in a chapter – it's like a game to try and finish the chapter before the time is up.

Additionally, the Kindle calculates your reading speed for each book, so you know how long it will take you to finish a chapter or the entire book.

This has made it much easier for me to stay motivated and focused while reading.

My reading routine

I usually read before bed, and I find that it's a great way to relax and unwind before sleep.

Sometimes I'll read one chapter a night, and other times I'll read two or more.

The key for me has been finding a reading routine that works for me and sticking to it.

If you struggle with reading like I used to, I highly recommend giving a Kindle a try.

It might not work for everyone, but for me, it's been a game-changer and has helped me develop a love for reading.

Whether you read before bed, on your lunch break, or any other time of day, find a routine that works for you and start exploring the vast world of books.
